Weak Things Become Strong - 26 August 2022

 

“If men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.” - Jesus Christ

I add my personal witness to the reality and truth of this amazing promise! There are many days when I read or hear this scripture and think, “That can’t possibly happen with this weakness I have!” But as I look back over the past few years–or even the past few months, I am amazed at how Christ’s grace has been sufficient to change so many of my weaknesses into strengths. It doesn’t usually happen all at once, but I find that Christ is changing me little by little every day as I humble myself before him and plead for his help.

I still have a lot of changing and growing to do. But I am amazed day after day when I look back and find that the things I felt I couldn’t change somehow got 1% better, even when all I can offer on my part is a sincere desire. Sometimes, it just happens and I don’t know how, but I know it does. I know that Christ’s enabling power–divine strength beyond our own–is real.
