Temples: Connecting with Heaven - 24 August 2021

The room pictured below looks like just an ordinary, albeit tidy and bright room. But when I visited that room in the Provo City Center Temple tonight, I felt an unusual and unexpected rush of peace and joy envelop me! The room represents and gives a taste of the joyful life we can one day have with God and our families after this life ends. True to that representation, as I watched people of all ages and backgrounds walk around and whisper to each other, smiling, I felt almost as if I were previewing heaven.

I have certainly had powerful moments of connection with heaven outside of the temple, such as when I pray, read the scriptures or go to church. But if I were to compare those experiences to a trickle, I feel a connection with heaven in the temple that is more like a stream! I know that the temples of the Church of Jesus Christ are God's houses on the Earth. He wants all of us to come unto Him, worthily enter the temple and partake of His love and hope.
