I Glory in MY Jesus: Having a Personal Relationship with Christ - 7 December 2021



During this holiday season, I would like to share that Jesus Christ lives today and that we each can have a PERSONAL relationship with Him!

An awesome coworker recently shared with me words that the ancient prophet Nephi wrote: "I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell" (2 Nephi 33:6) To Nephi, Christ was not merely an abstraction or a historical figure; Christ was HIS Jesus! I believe that Nephi felt this way about his relationship with Jesus because he had communicated with Jesus through prayer and relied on Jesus through his hard times and had felt Jesus Christ's personal love for him! And this personal relationship with Jesus brought Nephi great joy!

Though I am still trying to come closer to Christ, I have been filled with joy as I have personally felt His love for me and received strength from Him. This has happened as I have prayed, studied His life and word, tried to follow His example and path, and relied on Him to overcome my weaknesses! Jesus is the best friend that anyone can have because He is always willing to do help us and be with us in whatever we are doing and because He loves each of us perfectly, even when we aren't so good at loving Him back! And not only CAN we be friends with Him, but He WANTS to be friends with us, too! This Christmas season I am going to strive to strengthen my relationship with Him, and I hope you will, too!
